The Tertiary and Industry Tools (TaIT) division develops and delivers high quality and evidence-based assessments and education services with a focus on  tertiary education,  vocational and professional education.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY


We are seeking a proactive and confident Senior Project Officer to join the TaIT division and coordinate the day-to-day activities for high stakes exams within the Higher Education portfolio. The Senior Project Officer’s responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of projects and programs

  • Managing timely and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborating with staff and business units to resolve issues and maintain project progress

  • Assisting Project Directors in preparing project plans, documentation and timelines

  • Monitoring milestones and ensuring deadlines are met

  • Developing and maintaining databases, administration systems and online platforms

  • Updating websites and contributing to promotional activities as required

  • Building strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders

  • Contributing to continuous improvements in data management and administrative processes


During peak testing periods, the Senior Project Officer will be required to work outside standard working hours, including weekends. These requirements will be planned and discussed with the Project Director and/or Portfolio Manager, and additional hours will be managed in accordance with the prevailing ACER Enterprise Agreement.


ABOUT YOU


To thrive in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • High levels of diplomacy and experience dealing with demanding stakeholders and a high volume of enquiries

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven experience providing administrative support to projects or programs

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint)

  • Experience in database management and confidence using various online applications

ABOUT THE APPOINTMENT


The anticipated commencement date for this position is April 2026. This appointment is offered on an ongoing, full-time basis and can be located at any of ACER’s offices based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney. Annual salary is within the range of $101,705 – $112,416 (plus 17% employer contribution to superannuation).
