Are you an experienced Psychologist looking to expand your forensic mental health experience while exploring one of Australia's most unique and culturally rich regions?

We're seeking a Senior Forensic Psychologist to join a specialist mental health team on an 8-week locum contract. This is a rare opportunity to work within a forensic mental health service supporting individuals involved in the criminal justice system, while enjoying an incredible outback lifestyle and a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

The Role

Working within a specialist forensic mental health service, you'll provide comprehensive assessments, psychological interventions, case management, and reporting for clients experiencing mental illness who are involved with the justice system.

This is a community-based role offering a diverse and rewarding caseload, with a strong focus on assessment, risk management, and collaboration with key stakeholders across mental health and justice services.

Key Responsibilities

🧠 Conduct comprehensive forensic mental health assessments
πŸ“‹ Prepare reports and recommendations for justice-related stakeholders
🀝 Provide case management, counselling, advocacy, and care planning
βš–οΈ Work collaboratively with courts, corrections, and healthcare services
πŸ“ Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
πŸŽ“ Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development

About You

βœ” AHPRA Registered Psychologist
βœ” Previous experience in forensic mental health, corrections, offender services, or complex mental health settings highly regarded
βœ” Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
βœ” Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
βœ” Experience working with culturally diverse populations highly desirable

Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • NT Working with Children Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • National Criminal History Check issued within the last 6 months
  • Australian working rights (Working Holiday Visa holders welcome)
