</ul> Duties/responsibilities: Laboratory Operations 
<ul>
<li>Oversee daily lab operations, resource allocation, and instrument performance</li>
<li>Monitor workflow and reassign tasks to meet turnaround times</li>
<li>Ensure equipment calibration and maintenance are completed on schedule</li>
<li>Adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as needed e.g. laboratory benchwork</li>
</ul>People &amp; Culture <ul>
<li>Lead team management processes</li>
<li>Conduct regular check‑ins and performance reviews</li>
<li>Create and maintain development plans for all team members</li>
<li>Mentor and coach staff</li>
<li>Maintain staffing levels and support a positive team culture</li>
</ul>Client Management &amp; Business Development <ul>
<li>Build and maintain strong client relationships</li>
<li>Act as first contact for clients</li>
<li>Identify and pursue new business opportunities</li>
<li>Provide client visit reports and maintain client insights</li>
</ul>Quality Assurance &amp; Compliance <ul>
<li>Ensure compliance with NATA, ISO, and internal QMS requirements</li>
<li>Support method improvements and audit readiness</li>
</ul>Continuous Improvement <ul>
<li>Identify and implement process improvements</li>
<li>Encourage team ideas for workflow optimisation</li>
<li>Support evaluation and validation of new methods and technologies</li>
</ul> Skills/experience:<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or similar discipline</li>
<li>Must have prior experience in a NATA accreditated laboratory environment and a strong technical background</li>
<li>Experience in an environmental laboratory is highly ideal</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and attention to detail</li>
<li>Teamwork skills and ability to mentor junior staff</li>
