ICN NT is seeking a Communications & Marketing Specialist to join our team on a flexible part-time basis.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of communications and marketing for a respected Territory organisation that works at the intersection of industry, government and major projects. You'll create compelling content, promote local opportunities, success stories and help strengthen the profile of Northern Territory businesses and industry.
Working closely with the CEO and General Manager, you'll enjoy genuine flexibility, autonomy and variety while making a meaningful contribution to economic development across the Territory.
About Us
Industry Capability Network Northern Territory (ICN NT) is a not-for-profit organisation, with 14 Darwin-based staff, that connects Territory businesses with project opportunities. We work with major projects, government and industry to promote local capability and support economic development across the Northern Territory.
We are passionate about growing local industry, supporting major projects and helping Territory businesses find opportunities.
About the Role
This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll be responsible for planning, creating and delivering communications and marketing activities that strengthen ICN NT's profile and engagement with stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing ICN NT's LinkedIn presence and social media content
Developing and scheduling engaging communications content
Producing our newsletter and business showcase stories
Maintaining a communications calendar and content pipeline
Supporting event promotion and stakeholder engagement activities
Creating marketing collateral and promotional materials
Monitoring engagement analytics and communications performance
Coordinating content approvals and managing communications priorities
Maintaining brand consistency across all communications channels
Identifying opportunities to increase awareness of ICN NT and the projects we support
About You
We're looking for someone who is a strong communicator, highly organised and enjoys working collaboratively across a team to gather information, develop content and achieve shared outcomes. You will be proactive in building relationships, seeking out stories and working with colleagues to translate information into engaging communications.
You will ideally have:
Experience in communications, marketing, public relations or stakeholder engagement
Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills
Experience managing social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn
Experience creating newsletters, digital content and marketing materials
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Experience using platforms such as Canva, Mailchimp and website content management systems
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
Experience working collaboratively within a team environment and engaging with colleagues to source information, identify stories and develop content
A proactive approach to communication, with the confidence to engage with team members and stakeholders to gather information and keep projects moving
While not essential, the following experience will be highly regarded:
Experience working in industry or government
Understanding of the Northern Territory business and industry landscape
Basic photography, videography or graphic design skills
Experience using Adobe InDesign or similar design platforms
Approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility to negotiate hours for the right candidate
Genuine flexibility in how your hours are structured across the week, within our standard operating hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm
